Message delivery semantics
A reference for distinguishing delivery guarantees from the application behavior built on top of them.
Delivery is not effect
At-most-once, at-least-once, and effectively-once delivery describe what a transport attempts. They do not by themselves describe whether an application performs a side effect once.
